A Page Of New Posts

I haven't been feeling on the up and up for the last few weeks. I just can't figure out what is getting me down, but nothing has been able to pick me up. So I wrote my cutest mom an email today and told her simply that. She wrote me back within 5 minutes and said "Dinner tonight?" And I said "OF COURSE!" So we went to Zupas on 123rd and then across the street to one of our favorite new spots Frogurt. Cambria came along for the night and we all had the greatest time! We laughed, and talked about what is going on at our jobs currently, and then we talked about the most random things that I am sure anyone lending an ear to us was wondering what kind of crazies happened to be sitting near them. That is exactly what I needed. My mom. It's like the song "Your Mother" by the Chipette's. That song still gets me choked up when I think about it. No joke! YES THE CHIPETTE'S MAKE ME CRY! Sheesh. You listen to the song and see how you do! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OTCY5-E2A1g&feature=related

Also, if you haven't seen "Chipmunk Adventure" you should rent it! Especially if you have little kids!

Just Made It To #5

So there are 5 things that scare me more then anything else in the world. The 5th only occurred to me the other morning when I was laying in bed. Now numbers 1, 2, 3, and 4 scare me so badly that I could actually vomit due to the severity of my fear. Number 5 sends shivers through me and has ever since I was very very little. Younger then I can even remember. Are you ready for it? The sound of a garbage truck in the morning. No joke people. It scares me bad enough to want to hide. And the days that I happen to be outside when the garbage truck is coming around the corner?! You better watch out cuz I could very well puke I'm so scared! I seriously run to my car and sit. I blast the radio even to see if it will help. So there you have it, I know this doesn't seem like a real problem, but it is. I am being 100% honest. (I actually keep getting the chills and shivers through my body as I think of it!)

Yes, I Am Alive

I am here to say that YES, I am alive and I do know I haven't posted in quite some time. That could be an understatement. So I thought I'd change my background to give people a shout out that I've actually been here myself. I am very sad to see the deer and gorillas leave, but I must say I am almost as proud of this new page! I absolutely LOVE this song! I just think it is hilarious and should definitely be my theme song. Well, maybe not, but it would be pretty hilarious to have as a theme song. More posts to come, that is if anyone still checks this anymore....

3rd Times a Charm...

So I just went and saw "Twilight" with my sister-in-law Amy. This was my third viewing of the movie. And it just gets better and better every time I see it. Saying "obsessed" could very well be an understatement, which is sad. But it brings such joy to my heart. So, go see it if you haven't. And I'll go with you....

Props to Chels....

How do Chels and I belong in different time periods?! We are twins for heaven sakes! Chels looks like the cute little gal that shows up with her "You belong in 1955" thing. And the description does fit her. I'm just sad that I happen to belong in 1994.... I was 11 years old people, but I can see myself in the grunge era....

You Belong in 1994

With you anything goes! You're grunge one day, ghetto fabulous the next. It's all good!

My Very Best Twin...

So there are two things that I want in my life:

1. To be a vampire with Edward
2. To go to Disneyland with Chels for our birthday

There is only one of the two of those that can actually happen (sadly) although it hasn't been something I'd think would be able to happen any time soon. Well, on Christmas Eve Chels and I always exchange gifts. So we sat next to my Christmas tree and she handed me a beautiful peace of sparkly paper that had a poem written on it. She asked me to read it aloud. I started to cry within two sentences because it was just so sweet. Then, I got to the last paragraph which stated that she was taking me to DISNEYLAND FOR OUR BIRTHDAY! You have no idea how grateful I am that Chels always makes my dreams come true. She truly knows my heart, and once again, I don't know what I would do without a twin. So here's the plan:

We fly out of SLC on February 14th (our birthday) at 7am. We get to Cali around 8am their time, and we will head straight to Disneyland! Jesse and Quenten contributed by renting a room across from the park for us. I can't tell you what a dream this has been for me and Chels for so long!

So thank you to my Chels Lyn for being my twin, for knowing my heart, and for making my dreams come true! Merry Christmas and Happy Birthday! (Chels and I believed that Chip and Dale were based on us when we were little, so I had to throw in a picture of them! I LOVE CHIP AND DALE!)

The Vet Tech In Me....

I have an issue that requires the use of my soap box for a moment. I don't know if anyone reads my blog anymore because I never post anymore, but I'm really trying here. So I hope people will look at this. So on Sunday I was walking into church when a beautiful blue heeler puppy ran up to me. She was so excited and I instantly fell in love with her (look at the name of the blog people, are you surprised?) Anywho, I saw a guy standing by his car and I said "Is this your dog?" He said "No, but she's a sweetheart and my wife would love her." We proceeded to talk about the legality behind keeping a dog who was not yours, and that she would need to go to the Murray Animal Shelter the next morning as they were closed on Sundays. He said he would take her home and then to the shelter the next day.
So I went and taught my primary class and began walking to my car when I noticed my favorite little blue heeler accompanied by the guy I had met earlier and his wife. She was almost in tears and said "I LOVE HER SO MUCH! But our dog isn't liking her much at this point, and if we aren't sure we are going to get to keep her, I don't want to go through this yet. But we want her if no one claims her." They gave me the puppy and told me to keep them posted.

Well, I am not allowed to have pets at my condo so I was getting creative with ways to keep her until the next morning. So Chels and I walked around the neighborhood surrounding my church knocking door-to-door with no luck. Then I took her to Cottonwood Animal Hospital to get scanned for a microchip. Well, she had NONE. The point of this post is that if you have a pet, GET A CHIP! It's $35 people, that's all. My cat's are indoor only, but I still have chips in them just in case. You have no idea how many times in my career as a vet tech I heard "But I had a collar with tags on him." When they were frantically searching for their now lost pet. Collars can fall off (or be taken off in the sad cast that you might have your pet stolen). SO GET A MICROCHIP! This poor little pup that I found would be home right now if she had a chip. Instead she is sitting in a kennel at the Murray Animal Shelter. No one has called looking for her yet.

NEXT TIME YOU TAKE YOUR PET IN FOR VACCINES ASK FOR A MICROCHIP. AVID IS MY FAVORITE AND MOST WIDELY USED. JUST SO YOU KNOW. DO IT! YOU WON'T BE SORRY! AND HOPEFULLY YOU'LL NEVER HAVE TO USE IT!
